The History of Jax'Em Up
I have always had a passion for music and dancing. I can remember when my sisters would sneak me into clubs as a teenager and we would dance all night. The lights, music and atmosphere were so exciting. I remember school dances and having dance battles in the gym surrounded by the crowd. Taking turns to see who had the best moves. These moments really influenced me to want to be the one behind the table spinning the music like a magician with magic to see the reactions of what the next song would bring.
I started Jax'Em Up to honor a son that I had lost in 2010 named Jaxon. It was a really tough time in my life and the life of my family. I was struggling as a father and a man and needed something to could honor my son's legacy. I figured that naming a business after him that promotes fun, excitement and joy was one of the best honors that I could give.
To this end I want to make sure that every event is different. I want to ensure that the parties are always fun. I want to ensure that every bride and groom leave knowing their guests were entertained. I want my customers to know that I am making memories one song at a time.
My Approach
Music Is Personal. So Is How I Work.
I don't show up with a pre-loaded playlist and hit play. I sit down with you, learn about your event, your guests, your vibe — and then I build something that's truly yours. On the night of, I stay flexible, stay present, and stay focused on one thing: making sure you and everyone in that room has the time of their life.
